9th International Museum–University Festival
“To the Museum Today — To Science Tomorrow!” (hereinafter referred to as the “Festival”) will take place from March 12 to April 5, 2026.
The Festival is a large-scale international scientific and educational initiative aimed at integrating museums into the contemporary scientific, cultural, and educational agenda.
The key event of the Festival will be the II International Conference “Humanitarian Modernization for the Sustainable Development of Society,” held as part of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.

The Festival brings together federal, regional, and departmental museums, universities, research institutes, libraries, and cultural centers from Russia and other countries. Particular attention is given to university museums and museum collections held by academic departments and laboratories, which often remain outside the public spotlight despite the uniqueness of their holdings and their significant scientific potential.
As part of the Festival, scientific research is made accessible to a broad audience through interactive tours, lectures by young researchers, educational programs, and the integration of museum resources into the educational process. Young scientists, postgraduate students, and university students are actively involved in the Festival, contributing to the development of a sustainable system for science outreach and career guidance for young people.
As the Festival has developed, its program has expanded to include libraries, cultural centers, and tourism organizations from Russian regions, CIS countries, and BRICS countries interested in advancing international scientific and educational cooperation.
Events held under the auspices of the Festival provide participants with an opportunity to become part of an international scientific, educational, and cultural community; showcase unique collections and research findings; strengthen interregional and international ties; and raise public awareness of their activities.
The Organizing Committee includes representatives of the V.V. Dokuchaev Central Museum of Soil Science, the Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Government of St. Petersburg, the Committee for Tourism Development of the Government of St. Petersburg, Saint Petersburg State University, Saint Petersburg State University of Economics, the Assembly of the Peoples of the World, and the Museum Communications Agency.
