To mark the occasion, the Dokuchaev Central Museum of Soil Science hosted a screening of the “Pristine Russia” exhibition, inviting visitors to explore the world of nature and science. The museum regularly takes part in and organizes various events, helping to promote knowledge about soil science.

International Museum Day was established in 1977 by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) at the initiative of the Soviet delegation to the 11th ICOM General Conference, held in Moscow and Leningrad.

Since then, May 18 has been celebrated in many countries to raise awareness of the role museums play in society. Events, exhibitions, and guided tours highlight their importance in education and the preservation of cultural heritage.
