From St. Petersburg to the World: The International Festival “To the Museum Today — To Science Tomorrow!”

Since 2017, St. Petersburg has hosted a unique festival that brings together museums, universities, and research institutions. Its main goal is to showcase scientific achievements to a broad audience and make science more accessible and understandable to residents and visitors of the city.

Over the years, the Festival has grown significantly. While 11 organizations participated in 2017, by 2025 the number of participants had exceeded 50. Today, they include museums, research institutes, universities, and exhibition venues.

Since 2019, institutions from other Russian cities have also begun joining the Festival. This has helped create an interdisciplinary space where science, culture, and education come together with modern technologies and the fields of art & science.

A new stage in the Festival’s development began in 2022, when it was granted nationwide status. By 2025, it had reached the international level, with representatives from the CIS countries, BRICS nations, and other countries joining the initiative.

Today, the Festival “To the Museum Today — To Science Tomorrow!” is more than just a series of events. It is a large-scale platform that brings together science, education, and culture. It serves as a space for dialogue, the exchange of experience, and the exploration of new ways to engage the public with scientific knowledge.
